About this piece
This piece is intended primarily as textile wall art. If displayed on the floor, regular or heavy foot traffic is not recommended.
Rounded shapes in pink, peach and ivory drift over one another like reflections on still water. Nothing in the composition shouts: the three tones sit close together, the contrast is low, and the drawing is made of slow curves. That restraint is the point; this rug is for bedrooms, reading corners and other rooms where the interior should settle rather than perform.
It measures 80 × 70 cm (31.4 × 27.5 in), an almost-square format that hangs quietly beside a bed, above a dressing table or in a reading corner. The pile is sheared acrylic yarn, soft to the touch, color-fast in daylight, on a textile base with a non-slip finish to help keep it stable when displayed on the floor, and the whole piece weighs 3.5 kg (7.72 lbs). Ask for mounting loops on the back and it becomes a quiet textile piece for a wall that does not want a loud one.
Like all our rugs it is tufted by hand. A tufting gun drives the yarn through the stretched base line by line, following a drawing made for this design, and the pile is sheared level so the shapes keep their soft edges. Care asks little: run a lint roller over it for dust, vacuum gently when needed, and let a professional cleaner deal with any deep stain.
At $210 this is the lowest-priced rug in our catalog: a reasonable first hand-tufted piece if you have never lived with one. It is made to order: allow two to three weeks before it ships, free and tracked, across the EU and to the US. The same composition can be tufted larger, or in tones matched to your room, as a custom order; tell us the size and we will quote it.
