Questions about ordering a custom rug

First, we draw the design and agree the mockup with you. After approval, tufting begins and the design can no longer be changed. Once the adhesive backing has dried, the rug comes off the frame. We level the pile, shape each detail with a trimmer and finish it by hand with scissors. This sculptural shearing is the most time-consuming part of the process. Everything here is tufted in acrylic yarn. Wool and acrylic–wool blends are available if you ask for them, and wool runs two to three times the price, so we settle the material and the number before anyone picks up a gun.

Yes. Send the dimensions in inches along with your references, and the quote comes back for that exact size. Price follows the area, so you can also work backward from a budget.

A lint roller handles the everyday. Vacuum on gentle suction with the beater bar switched off, since the rotating brush tugs at the pile while the airflow does the actual work. Blot spills right away with a clean cloth and a mild solution. Deep cleaning belongs to a professional rug cleaner.

Production time tracks the size. A 33 × 24 in portrait runs three business days and a 79 × 59 in piece runs seventeen; every step in between is in the size table. Anything already in stock goes out within a few days.

In-stock catalog pieces can be returned within 14 days of delivery: write to us, send the piece back unused and in its original condition, and we refund the price once it has arrived and been checked; return shipping is paid by the customer. Work made to order is drawn and tufted for you, and you approve both the mockup and the final photographs before it ships, so it cannot be returned for a change of mind. If a piece arrives damaged or has a defect, contact us within seven days with photographs and we will arrange a repair, replacement or refund.

Every piece is photographed in natural light, but your screen has its own opinion about color. If an exact match matters, ask for daylight photographs or a set of yarn samples before you order.

Yes. Shipping is free and tracked anywhere in the US, free across the EU as well, and quoted individually for everywhere else.

Major credit and debit cards, PayPal and bank transfer. In-stock pieces are paid in full and ship once payment clears. Made-to-order work starts with a 30% deposit, and the balance is due only after you have seen photographs of the finished piece, before it is packed.

The rugs and paintings are made by Ksenia Derr. She trained for nine years at the Saint Petersburg Stieglitz State Academy of Art and Design, three at its lyceum and six at the university.

Before tufting, you approve a detailed vector mockup and the yarn palette. After the adhesive backing has dried, the rug comes off the frame for multi-stage shearing: the pile is leveled, shaped with a trimmer and finished by hand with scissors. We send photographs and video of the completed piece before the balance is paid and the parcel ships.
