About this piece
This piece is intended primarily as textile wall art. If displayed on the floor, regular or heavy foot traffic is not recommended.
Bands of deep blue roll across a cream ground, with a seam of pink showing between them: a wave reduced to a few soft shapes. The gallery photographs were taken on the shore near our studio: Kseniia Derr, who tufted this piece, holds it up against the sea it takes its palette from.
It is a quiet design for quiet places. At 80 × 60 cm (31.5 × 23.6 in) the rug suits a wall beside a bed, a hallway or a reading corner; at about 2.4 kg (5.25 lbs) it is light enough to hang as textile wall art, and we will add mounting loops to the textile back on request. The non-slip layer on the underside keeps it stable when displayed on the floor.
Each copy is made with a hand-held tufting gun: acrylic yarn is driven through a stretched base cloth line by line, then the pile is sheared level. The close-up photographs show what that produces: a dense, low-relief surface where every band of color forms a ridge you can trace by hand.
The Harmony of Waves Rug is made to order at $245 and takes two to three weeks before dispatch; shipping is free across the EU and to the US, with tracking. Everyday care takes minutes: a lint roller lifts dust and hair, a gentle vacuum handles the rest, and deep stains are a job for a professional cleaner rather than a scrubbing brush. If 80 × 60 cm is not your size, the same wave can be redrawn and tufted to fit your room; the price scales with the area.
