One motion runs through the entire piece: bands of mustard, deep blue and terracotta wind inward the way water turns as a sink empties. Our Swirls of Energy rug scatters loose curls around its circle; this drawing rotates once and keeps going, so the eye rides the current all the way in.

The circle runs 33 in across and weighs 8.8 lbs. Round formats do a particular job indoors: they cut across the straight lines of beds, couches and shelving, which is why this one works on the wall of a modern room that wants exactly one loud accent. Displayed on the floor, the non-slip textile backing helps keep it steady, and on a wall the sheared pile catches light softly.

It is made by hand, not printed. The drawing moves onto a stretched textile base, a tufting gun fills it with acrylic yarn one band of color at a time, and shearing levels the pile and sharpens the lines between tones, which is what keeps the vortex readable. Acrylic asks little in return: the colors hold under normal room light, dust lifts with a lint roller, a gentle vacuum finishes the job, and deep stains go to a professional cleaner.
