This piece is intended primarily as textile wall art. If displayed on the floor, regular or heavy foot traffic is not recommended.

One movement runs through this whole rug: bands of mustard, deep blue and terracotta wind toward the center like water going down a drain. Where our Swirls of Energy rug scatters separate curls around its circle, here the rotation is single and continuous: stand over it and the eye follows the current inward.

The circle measures 84 cm across (33 in) and weighs 4 kg (8 lbs). Round formats do a specific job in an interior: they break up the straight lines of beds, sofas and shelving, which is why this piece works on a wall in modern and minimalist rooms that want exactly one bright accent. The non-slip textile backing keeps it stable when displayed on the floor, and the sheared pile catches light softly against the wall.

It is made by hand, not printed. The drawing is transferred to a stretched textile base, then a tufting gun fills it in with acrylic yarn, color band by color band; shearing evens the pile and sharpens the boundaries between the tones, which is what keeps the vortex legible. Acrylic yarn is straightforward to care for: the colors hold in normal room light, dust lifts off with a lint roller, and a gentle vacuum finishes the job. Deep stains are best left to professional cleaning.
