Tufted wall hangings

What a tufted wall hanging gives you that a print cannot is physical relief. Every piece here comes off a frame in our studio, acrylic yarn driven through stretched backing cloth one field of color at a time. After the adhesive on the reverse has dried, the work leaves the frame and the pile is leveled and carved in passes, so each part of the drawing ends up with its own edge and its own depth.

The gallery below is the wall half of the catalog. The Cubist lobster is textile wall art in the strict sense, a hand-tufted picture meant first and foremost for a wall. The Van Gogh Sunflowers replica and the red-and-orange parquet composition were conceived as wall works and arrive with hanging loops already attached. The two leaf designs run double duty: a non-slip base underneath and loops on the back, so the same piece can serve as an accent by the bed one year and hang above a desk the next. On the floor, regular or heavy foot traffic is not recommended.

Getting one up is straightforward. The loops sit on a stiff textile back, so it hangs like a framed print: no stretcher bars, no drilling through cloth. The smaller works here, around 31.5 × 23.6 in and 5.5 lbs, hang off ordinary picture hooks in drywall or plaster. The big Cubist lobster is the exception; it ships prepared for tension framing, and any local framer can stretch it taut the way a canvas is stretched.

Beyond what is shown here, anything we tuft can be set up for a wall. Mention it with your order and the loops go on before the box is sealed.
