Round rug with two sleeping corgis laid on a bedroom floor.

About this piece

This piece is intended primarily as textile wall art. If displayed on the floor, regular or heavy foot traffic is not recommended.

Two corgis sleep nose to nose on a round field of soft, muted color. The drawing is simple on purpose, rounded outlines, a calm palette, and on the wall it reads like a children’s book illustration. The rug was made round, 127 cm across (50 in), a format that suits a nursery, a play corner or above a low bed, and its 5.5 kg (12.13 lbs) of sheared acrylic pile invites close viewing as decorative textile art.

This particular piece has found its home: it is sold and cannot be bought off the shelf. The page stays up because it shows what a commissioned dog rug from our studio looks like. If you want sleeping corgis of your own, or your actual dog, drawn in the same soft manner from photographs you send, we can make a new rug to order. Round or rectangular, larger or smaller: the design is drawn from scratch for each commission, so the size and the dog are yours to choose.

Every piece here is made the same way. A hand-held tufting gun pushes acrylic yarn through a stretched textile base, following the drawing color by color. After the adhesive backing has dried, the rug comes off the frame and the pile is leveled and shaped in stages. A non-slip textile layer keeps it stable when displayed on the floor. Dust and fibers lift off with a lint roller, a gentle vacuum does the rest, and professional cleaning handles anything more serious.

This rug was priced at $340 at 127 × 127 cm; a new commission is quoted from your photo and measurements. Making takes two to three weeks, and shipping is free across the EU and to the US, with tracking.
