FAQ

Common questions

How to order, what the lead times are, how pieces ship, and how to care for a hand-tufted rug or an original painting.

Buying guide

  1. Browse the collection

Browse the catalogue of hand-tufted rugs, textile wall pieces and original paintings. Each piece is listed with its dimensions, materials and availability.

  2. Open the piece

The product page lists dimensions in centimetres, materials, weight where relevant and current availability: in stock, made to order or sold.

  3. Send an enquiry

Use the enquiry button on the piece you are interested in. Tell us which work it is and where it should ship. There is no shopping cart; every order is confirmed personally.

  4. Confirm the details

We reply within 24 hours with availability, the lead time and the total. Shipping is free across the EU and to the US; other destinations are quoted individually. Payment details are agreed at this point.

  5. Production and delivery

Pieces in stock ship within a few days. Made-to-order work takes three to seventeen working days depending on the size. You receive a tracking number as soon as the parcel leaves the studio.

Common questions

How is a custom rug designed and finished?

First, we draw the design and agree the mockup with you. After approval, tufting begins and the design can no longer be changed. Once the adhesive backing has dried, the rug comes off the frame. We level the pile, shape each detail with a trimmer and finish it by hand with scissors. This sculptural shearing is the most time-consuming part of the process. Ksenia Derr has more than fifteen years of experience across painting, metalwork, jewellery design and custom automotive finishes; you can read her biography on the About page.

What materials are used for your tufting rugs?

We tuft in acrylic yarn. Wool and acrylic–wool blends are possible on request. Wool costs two to three times more, so the material is agreed and quoted before work starts.

Can I order a rug or painting in a custom size?

Yes. Send the dimensions and design references for the rug or painting; the quote is prepared for that size.

How should I care for and clean my rug?

For day-to-day care, use a lint roller. A vacuum is safe on a gentle suction setting without a rotating brush; the beater bar pulls at the pile, not the airflow. Blot spills at once with a clean cloth and a mild cleaning solution. Deep cleaning should be left to a professional rug cleaner.

How long does it take to create a custom rug?

Production time follows the size. An 84 × 60 cm portrait takes three working days and a 200 × 150 cm piece takes seventeen; the size table lists every step in between. Pieces in stock ship within a few days.

Do you offer warranties on your products?

In-stock catalogue pieces can be returned within 14 days of delivery: write to us, send the piece back unused and in its original condition, and we refund the price once it has arrived and been checked; return postage is paid by the customer. Work made to order is drawn and tufted for you, and you approve both the mockup and the final photographs before it ships, so it cannot be returned for a change of mind. If a piece arrives damaged or has a defect, contact us within seven days with photographs and we will arrange a repair, replacement or refund.

Do the rug colours on the website match the actual colours?

We photograph each piece in natural light, but screen settings can change how the colours appear. Ask for daylight photographs or yarn samples if an exact match matters.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we offer international shipping. Shipping is free across the EU and to the US; for other destinations we quote the cost individually.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept major credit and debit cards, PayPal, and bank transfers. Pieces already in stock are paid in full and ship once the payment clears. Work made to order starts with a 30% deposit; the balance is due after you have seen photographs of the finished piece, before it is packed.

Who makes the rugs and paintings?

Ksenia Derr makes the rugs and paintings in the studio. She studied for nine years at the Saint Petersburg Stieglitz State Academy of Art and Design: three years at its lyceum and six at the university.

How do I approve the design and the finished rug?

Before tufting, you approve a detailed vector mockup and the yarn palette. After the adhesive backing has dried, the rug comes off the frame for multi-stage shearing: the pile is levelled, shaped with a trimmer and finished by hand with scissors. We send photographs and video of the completed piece before the balance is paid and the parcel ships.
