About this piece
This piece is intended primarily as textile wall art. If displayed on the floor, regular or heavy foot traffic is not recommended.
Ribbons of red, blue, yellow and green curl across the full length of this rug, each one wrapping into the next so that the surface seems to keep moving. There is no repeat and no border: the composition was drawn once, edge to edge, and then tufted as a single picture.
At 250 × 140 cm (98.4 × 55.1 in) it is a substantial textile wall piece. It anchors a wall in a living room, fills a studio wall, or runs above the length of a large bed. It weighs 6.5 kg (14.33 lbs) and, on request, ships with mounting loops on the textile back for hanging; the non-slip textile backing also keeps it stable when displayed on the floor.
This is a hand-tufted rug, not a print. Kseniia Derr works acrylic yarn through a stretched base with a tufting gun, one colour at a time; where two colours meet, they meet as two physical rows of yarn, which is why the curves keep a clean edge instead of blurring. The sheared acrylic pile is soft to the touch, keeps its colour in daylight, and cleans up with a lint roller and a gentle vacuum; deep stains should go to a professional cleaner.
The Colorful Whirl Rug is made to order at €550 and needs two to three weeks in the studio before it ships. Delivery is free across the EU and to the US, with tracking. The drawing also scales: if 250 × 140 cm is too large or too small for your room, send your measurements and we will prepare a new quote. The same design can be tufted at any size and the palette can be adjusted to your interior.
